Disney's Pop Century Resort Lobby Refresh: New Check-In Counters, Kid’s Area, and More! (2025)

Get ready for a magical transformation at Disney's Pop Century Resort! The lobby is undergoing an exciting refurbishment, and we've got all the details for you. A vibrant, retro-themed lobby awaits, but some changes might spark debate among Disney enthusiasts.

Let's dive into the latest updates:

Check-In Counters

The new check-in area is a colorful delight! Instead of a single, monotonous counter, Disney has divided the space into three distinct sections, each representing a different decade. Starting from the bus stop end, you'll find a groovy 1960s-inspired counter with a teal backdrop and the word "Neato" - a fun nod to that era. Moving along, the 1970s counter boasts retro wavy wall art, a true representation of that decade's style. Lastly, the 1980s/1990s counter features the word "Cool" in a geometric design, a popular trend during those years.

Kid's Area Refresh

The kid's area has been given a refreshing makeover too! Bright blue geometric carpet and colorful seating poufs create a fun and inviting space. A television set plays classic Disney movies, including "The Little Mermaid," "The Jungle Book," and "Alice in Wonderland." The wall art is a real treat, designed to look like TV screens playing various Disney favorites. It's a dream come true for young Disney fans!

Additional Seating and More

At the opposite end of the lobby, near Bell Services, you'll find a long table and chairs for extra seating. This area is painted a vibrant lime green, with orange patterned carpet, adding a pop of color. Additionally, a simple DVC counter with blue walls is located near the bus stop, providing a convenient service point.

The Retro Mural

A large retro-themed mural of Minnie and Daisy covers a significant portion of the wall space opposite the check-in counters. However, the wall that previously displayed fun photos and mementos from past decades is now covered with white scrim and black curtains. This change might leave some guests feeling nostalgic for the old display.

Previous Lobby Transformation

Earlier this year, the Everything POP shopping area underwent a refurbishment, including a new coffee shop. The rooms also received an updated look, adding to the overall resort experience. These continuous improvements showcase Disney's commitment to enhancing guest experiences.
